Current projects
National project of Statistics Sweden and SSO “Statistics in line with user needs and European requirements”
The project aims to improve SSO’s overall capacity to produce and disseminate quality statistics, to provide an increased availability of statistics in accordance with the needs of current and future users, as well as the requirements of the EU acquis in statistics.
The project consists of the following components:
Component 1 – Management
Enhanced utilization of staff resources through:
- developed structured system for internal communication
- developed and launched a revamped intranet
- support SSO to develop a new organisational structure
- implementation and utilisation of a product-based planning and monitoring system
- an updated and refined user satisfaction survey
Component 2 – Statistical Methodology
Enhanced methodological capacity through:
- established methodological support function
- created structured documentation of statistics production
- established methodology training program
Component 3 – ICT
Modernized ICT operations through:
- prepared policy for IT tools and systems
- developed an ICT training program
- set up a training centre
- support SSO to consolidate databases
- further develop the Information Security Management System
- launching the new website
- continous support the development of the MAKSTAT database
Component 4: Register data
Increased utilization of register data through:
- utilisation of the Employment Register
- developing an Education Register
- producing a roadmap towards a register-based statistics production
