Statistical council

The Statistical Council of the Republic of North Macedonia is an expert advisory body for official statistics.

The Council is composed of a President and 13 members who are appointed and dismissed by the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia. The Director of the Office is an ex officio member of the Council.

4. Liljana Torova, Deputy Director of the Statistics Department in the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia
5. Orce Gjorgjievski, Mayor of the Municipality of Kisela Voda
6. Vladanka Trajkoska, President of the Organisation of Employers of Macedonia, on the proposal of the Economic and Social Council
7. Jasmina Chaushoska, Associate at the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation
8. Sasho Despotoski, Associate at the Economic Chamber of Macedonia
9. Orce Simov, Vice President of the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce
10. Menderes Kuchi, on the proposal of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia
11. Prof. Marija Trpkova Nestorovska, PhD, Professor at the Faculty of Economics - "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje
12. Prof. Aneta Cekic, PhD, Professor at the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research - "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje
13. Prof. Ivan Radevski, PhD, Associate Professor at the Institute of Geography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics - "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University in Skopje

The Council performs the following duties:

• Discusses the starting points of the Programme of Statistical Surveys
• Gives an opinion on the proposal for adopting the Programme
• Gives suggestions and proposals on the methodological bases of the statistical surveys of the Office and the authorised bodies
• Makes proposals to the Office for amendments to the Programme
• Gives an opinion on the proposed amendments to the Programme
• Gives an opinion on the Annual Report of the Office on the implementation of the Programme
• Gives opinions and proposals for legislation and other regulations in the field of official statistics
• Proposes modernisation and rationalisation of official statistics
• Proposes promotion of international cooperation in the field of statistics
