Meeting of the Director of the State Statistical Office with the United Nations Resident Coordinator

The Director of the State Statistical Office, Dejan Stankov, PhD, held a meeting with the newly appointed United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in the Republic of North Macedonia, Ms. Rita Columbia.
The main focus of the meeting was the Sustainable Development Goals and the role that the State Statistical Office has in the country in this area. In the coming period, the possibilities of developing a platform for Sustainable Development will be considered. Furthermore, the support that the office of the UN Resident Coordinator can provide in the area of ??improving the quality of administrative data sources, especially the population register, was discussed. Ms. Columbia also emphasized the readiness to support the improvement of the statistical infrastructure of the State Statistical Office.
Both interlocutors agreed that the topics discussed at the meeting are of exceptional importance and cooperation in those areas will continue.
