Agricultural areas and crop production, 2024
Potatoes production in 2024 compared to 2023 increased by 9.0%
Cultivated land in 2024 covered an area of 506 586 ha.
Decrease of cultivated land was registered for arable land and gardens by 2.0% and vineyards by 1.7% and increase was registered for orchards by 3.1%.
In the same period, an increase in production was registered for potatoes by 9.0% and cucumbers by 3.6%. For all other crops a significant decrease was registered for rice by 6.9%, sunflower by 10.2% and alfalfa by 6.7%.
In 2024 compared to 2023 significant increase is registered for all fruits. The highest increase is registered for apples by 59.1% and for cherries by 41.0%.
