Organic production, 2023

The largest share of the agricultural area used for organic production in 2023 had cereals with 51%

In 2023, 888 producers were engaged in organic agricultural production.

The total area with crop organic production is 4 215 hectares of which 1 475 hectares are areas of organic production in conversion period.

With 51% (2 158 hectares), cereals have the largest share of the agricultural area used for organic production.

The organic production of cereals is decreased by 5.6% compared to 2022, for industrial crops the production is decreased by 17.0%, at fodder crops the production is decreased by 8.4%, the production of vegetables is decreased by 42.8%, the organic production of fruits is increased by 16.4% and the production of organic vineyards is decreased by 4.6%.

The share of organic cattle is 7 528 and the total number of cattle is 5.1%.
 
The share of organic sheep in the total number of sheep is 20.5% and organic goats are participating with 5.8% in the total number of goats.

The production of organic honey in 2023 increased by 53.9% compared with 2022 and the number of beehives in the same period increased by 15.9%.
