In 2023, 6 260 enterprises were newly created, most of them in service activities.
In 2023, 6 260 enterprise births were registered, which represents 9.3% of the total number of active market-oriented enterprises within the business sector1).
Compared to 2022, a decrease in enterprise births by 2.1% was observed.
The enterprise births engage 14 878 people, which represents an increase of 7.4% compared to the previous year. 18.9% of the enterprise births were without employees.
There were 4 715 enterprise deaths in 2022, or 7.1% of the total number of active enterprises, mainly in the Wholesale and retail trade sector.
