Environmental Protection Expenditures, 2023

The total environmental protection expenditures in 2023 amounted to 8 875 771 thousand denars. 

The total environmental protection expenditures are allocated by ecological use as follows: the greatest is the share of expenditures on wastewater management, 35.01%, followed by the share of expenditures on waste management, 28.31% and expenditures on circulating water supply, 20.93%. 

Environmental expenditures include two components: investments in assets for environmental protection and expenditures on maintenance of assets for environmental protection. The share of investments in the total environmental protection expenditures amounted to 62.23%, and the share of expenditures on maintenance of assets for environmental protection was 37.77%.

Of the total environmental expenditures, the greatest amount was spent in the industry sector and specialised producers, 4 381 994 thousand denars, i.e. 49.37%.

Of the total environmental expenditures made in the industry sector and specialised producers, 32.82% were intended for investments and 67.18% for asset maintenance.

Of the total payments and fees for environmental protection services, the greatest is the share of payments and fees for waste management, 88.47%.
