Industrial production volume index, July 2025

The industrial production in July 2025, in comparison with July 2024, increased by 4.1%

The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in July 2025, in comparison with July 2024, decreased by 10.4%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 7.0%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 7.5%.

The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions:
- Manufacture of tobacco products,
- Manufacture of textiles,
- Manufacture of wearing apparel,
- Printing and reproduction of recorded media, 
- Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, 
- Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products,
- Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment,
- Manufacture of electrical equipment,
- Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c.,
- Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and
- Manufacture of furniture.

The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in July 2025, in comparison with July 2024, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 12.5%, Capital goods by 18.6% and Durable consumer goods by 2.9%, but lower in Energy by 6.5% and Non-durable consumer goods by 8.5%.

The industrial production in the period January - July 2025, in comparison with January - July 2024, increased by 3.0%.

Key takeaway

The divisions that contributed the most to the increase in industrial production in July 2025, compared to July 2024, were:

•    Manufacture of electrical equipment with 15.3%
•    Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. with 4.6%
•    Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers with 26.5%
