Fruitful cooperation between the State Statistical Office with the IMF for the development of official statistics
Key macroeconomic indicators, demographic trends and activities within the SDDS Plus framework – the IMF statistical standard were reviewed
A productive and constructive working meeting was held at the State Statistical Office with representatives of the mission for Article 4 of the Statute of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from Washington.
During the meeting, key statistical indicators were reviewed, with a special emphasis on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) prices and inflation, demographic trends and migration trends. The representatives of the SSO presented the latest data and methodological approaches, confirming the importance of quality and timely statistics in supporting economic analyses and policymaking.
Macedonia is a member country of the SDDS Plus, the highest statistical standard of the IMF, and the State Statistical Office is the national coordinator of the process. The National Summary Data Page is available on the website of the State Statistical Office and includes macroeconomic data relating to the four sectors of the national economy: the real sector, the fiscal sector, the financial sector, the external sector, as well as data on the population.
The National Summary Data Page enables the dissemination of all data categories in the SDMX format, which is particularly suitable for computerized data processing. National metadata, describing the methodological basis of the data, are available in the IMF’s Dissemination Standards Bulletin (DSBB).
The State Statistical Office will continue its active cooperation with the IMF in the area of official statistics, with the aim of continuous progress and development of the National Statistical System.
