Statistics in line with user needs and international standards
The development goal of this project is to use official statistics to create policies that will improve living conditions, as well as increasing the transparency and accountability of public policies
The State Statistical Office, in cooperation with Statistics Sweden, organized initial event for the project "Statistical data aligned with user needs and international standards".
The event was addressed by the ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ms. Amy Larsson, the director of the State Statistical Office, Mr. Dejan Stankov and Ms. Cecilia Stenbjorn, Director of Social Statistics and Analysis at Statistics Sweden, who in their presentations, emphasized the importance of this partnership between the two institutions which enables the increase of the capacities of the State Statistical Office for the production of statistical data which meet the needs of the users as well as the requirements of the EU in the process of the country's accession to the European Union.
"The development goal of this project is to use official statistics to create policies that will improve living conditions, as well as increasing the transparency and accountability of public policies," said the director of the SSO, Mr. Dejan Stankov.
In the following, 4 components of this project were presented: Management, Statistical Methodologies, Information and Communication Technologies and Data Registers.
Through these 4 components, in the next 3 years, the employees of the Office, together with the experts from Statistics Sweden, will work on developing and enhancing their own capacities, improving the efficient production of statistical data in order to meet the needs of users and successfully deal with the challenges that modern living brings.
