Exchange of experiences and best practices, improvement of statistical methodologies, and new opportunities for bilateral cooperation
On 6 and 7 October 2026, a delegation of the State Statistical Office, led by the Director General, Dr Dejan Stankov, paid a two-day working visit to the Czech Statistical Office in Prague, as part of the longstanding bilateral cooperation between the two institutions.
The delegation held a meeting with the President of the Czech Statistical Office, Marek Rojíček.
The meeting focused on opportunities to further strengthen institutional cooperation, exchange experiences and best practices, and improve statistical processes and methodologies.
During the two-day visit, several important areas of official statistics were discussed, including price statistics, with particular emphasis on the Producer Price Index (PPI) and Services Producer Price Index (SPPI), household surveys and their technical support, as well as national accounts.
Particular attention was paid to flash estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), preparations for the implementation of the new European System of Accounts (ESA 2030), the revision of the National Classification of Activities, government finance statistics, and the functioning of the Statistical Business Register.
The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange professional experiences, explore the potential application of modern methodological approaches, and identify areas of mutual interest for future cooperation.
This visit marks a continuation of the longstanding successful partnership between the two national statistical institutions and reaffirms their shared commitment to further strengthening professional ties, exchanging knowledge, and improving the quality of official statistics.
The State Statistical Office remains committed to developing international cooperation and aligning with European statistical standards, with the aim of providing timely, high-quality, and reliable statistical data that meet users' needs.
