Training on Peer Review Held for Authorized Bodies within the National Statistical System

The Peer Review is part of Eurostat’s strategic activities aimed at assessing the National Statistical System's compliance with the European Statistics Code of Practice

On September 29, 2026, the State Statistical Office held a training session for authorized bodies within the National Statistical System as part of  the preparations for the forthcoming third round of Peer Reviews.

The Peer Review is part of Eurostat’s strategic activities aimed at assessing the National Statistical System's compliance with the European Statistics Code of Practice.

The training covered the Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Macedonian Statistics, the Peer Review process, and the Self-Assessment Questionnaire. Particular emphasis was placed on the roles and obligations of the authorized bodies in this process, and relevant experiences from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) were shared.

Participants also had the opportunity to discuss practical aspects of completing the Self-Assessment Questionnaire, as well as the future coordination of activities within the National Statistical System.

The training was conducted under the Quality project—part of a Eurostat grant within the IPA 2022 Multi-beneficiary Programme for Statistical Cooperation—and was implemented by the State Statistical Office.
