The total fish production and catch in 2025 decreased by 19.5% compared to 2024
In 2025, the total fish production and catch was 1 992 tons, which represent a decrease of 19.5% compared with the previous year.
Aquaculture production in 2025 was 1 847 tons, and compared to 2024 decreased by 21.0%
In the same period, the catch from inland waters was 148 tons and increased by 5.1%.
In aquaculture production, 126 781 kilograms of juvenile fish and 15.1 million pieces of eggs were produced.
Of the fish species, the rainbow trout was the most bred as a juvenile.
For fish farming, fishponds, pools and canals and cages were mostly used as facilities.
In 2025, 278 people were employed in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, of which 129 were in aquaculture and 149 in fisheries.
In the same year, 8 503 people were engaged in recreational fishing, of which only 70 were women.
