The situation in the field of culture is monitored by statistical surveys on theatres, cinemas, libraries, museums and publishing.

The data on the business entities in the domain of culture are collected by the State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia by means of regular statistical surveys (annual and triennial).

The annual reports include data on theatres, philharmonic orchestras, professional orchestras, cinemas, fine arts and publishing activities (books and brochures); the triennial reports cover data on libraries, museums and technical culture. 
The data on theatres, philharmonic orchestras, professional orchestras and technical arts refer to the theatrical seasons while the other data refer to the calendar year.

The data in the domain of public information are collected by the State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia by means of regular annual statistical surveys.

The annual reports cover the public broadcasting enterprises and commercial broadcasters and periodical publications (newspapers and magazines).
