The number of live births recorded in the first quarter of 2026 was 3 380, a decrease of 4.1% compared to the same quarter of 2025.
The number of deaths in the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 1.0% compared to the same quarter of 2025 and it amounted to 5 342, of which 9 were infant deaths.
The natural increase is negative, -1 962 persons, representing the difference by which the number of live births is smaller than the number of deaths.
The number of marriages registered in this quarter of the year was 1 797, a decrease of 2.7% compared to the same quarter of 2025.
In this quarter of 2026, there were 494 divorces, which represents an increase of 6.2% in comparison with the same quarter of 2025.
