From October 16 to 18, 2024, the Regular Annual Mission for evaluating the work of the National Statistical System, conducted by the Statistical Office of the European Union - Eurostat, was held.
From October 16 to 18, 2024, the Regular Annual Mission for evaluating the work of the National Statistical System, conducted by the Statistical Office of the European Union - Eurostat, was held.
The mission, with Eurostat, was physically attended by Mr. Torbiojrn Carlqvist, team leader for the extension section, and virtually involved were the experts from the respective domains, for macroeconomic, agricultural and business statistics.
The mission was also attended by Mr. Oleg Hirbu, representative from the Delegation of the European Union, in charge of monitoring the harmonization of statistics, and in one part representatives of the Directorate for Enlargrment and the Directorate for ECFIN were also present.
The representative of Eurostat first had a meeting and discussions with the director of the SSO. At the same time, the representative was acquainted with the activities of the Office in the past period, as well as with the future priorities in the direction of improving the work, improving the quality and modernizing the procedures for collecting and accessing the data of the Office.
Working meetings were also held with employees from all departments in the Office and representatives from the National Bank who presented in more detail their work and achievements in the direction of harmonizing National and European legislation in the area of statistics.
The conclusions of the Regular Annual Mission of Eurostat represent an important contribution to the preparation of the Annual Report of the European Commission on the state's progress in the area of Chapter 18 Statistics.
