Practical introduction to official statistics as part of the curriculum
As part of the activities to promote statistical literacy among young people, on 29 April 2026, the State Statistical Office hosted students and professors from the Secondary School of Economics "Jane Sandanski" from Bitola.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the role of the Office as the main authority responsible for official statistics in the country, as well as its importance in the processes of data collection, processing and dissemination.
Through an interactive presentation, they were presented with the key statistical processes and modern tools used in the work, with special emphasis on the website of the Office and the MakStat database. The students also had the opportunity to practically learn how to access relevant statistical information and how to apply it within their classes in economics and statistics.
The visit took place in an interactive atmosphere, with active involvement of the students through questions and discussions, as well as a mini quiz, which contributed to a greater understanding of the importance of statistics in modern society.
The State Statistical Office will continue to carry out such educational activities in the future, with the aim of encouraging young people’s interest in using and properly interpreting statistical data.
