Educational visit of students from the Primary School "Grigor Prlicev" - Skopje
The State Statistical Office will continue to contribute to the education and information of the younger generations, in order to stimulate their interest in statistics
Today, the State Statistical Office was visited by the fifth-grade students from the Primary School "Grigor Prlicev" - Skopje.
Through a short presentation and conversation with the employees of the State Statistical Office, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the most extensive statistical activity - the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings - why it is conducted, how data is collected and what their role is in planning public policies.
Particular interest among the students aroused the section dedicated to the most common names and surnames in the country, where they learned in an interesting and interactive way what some of the most common names among the population are.
The visit was an excellent opportunity for young students to learn about the work of the SSO, to understand how important statistics are in everyday life, and to foster an interest in statistics in them from an early age.
