On 19 November, the Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Mr. Paolo Palminteri, paid an official visit to the State Statistical Office (SSO), during which a bilateral meeting was held with the SSO Director, Mr. Dejan Stankov. The discussions focused on the importance of high-quality statistics in the country’s EU accession process. Both sides emphasized the need for reliable, harmonized and internationally comparable data as a basis for effective policymaking and for meeting the requirements of the European Statistical System.
During the meeting, the long-standing cooperation between the SSO and the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) was reaffirmed and further strengthened. The two parties underlined their joint commitment to deepening the partnership through EU-funded programmes, capacity-building activities and methodological alignment, all aimed at supporting the country’s European integration.
The visit took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, concluding with the shared recognition that professional cooperation and cultural exchange continue to reinforce the relations between the two institutions and the two countries.
SSO Marks the Week of Italian Cuisine with a Symbolic Celebration
As part of the ongoing cooperation, the SSO, in partnership with ISTAT, organized a symbolic celebration to mark the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. The event, attended by employees from both institutions and Ambassador Palminteri, served as an opportunity for cultural engagement and for celebrating Italy’s rich gastronomic heritage.
