Panel discussion on the role of financial reporting in policymaking
Accounting reports create quality macroeconomic statistics that are the basis for effective policies
The State Statistical Office participated in the panel discussion "Policymaking, not just reporting: redefining the accounting profession", organized by the Chamber of Accountants of Macedonia on 12 December 2025 in Skopje.
In his presentation, the Director of the State Statistical Office emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation between accountants, statisticians and policymakers, underlining that high quality financial statements are the basis for better quality macroeconomic statistics and effective policies.
The efforts of state statistics to align with European data quality standards were presented, in parallel with reducing the administrative burden for reporting units, through system solutions and digitalization of processes.
The Director extended congratulations on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the Chamber of Accountants, its important role in the advancement of the accounting profession. The Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr. Marjan Risteski, also gave a welcoming speech at the event.
