Representatives of the State Statistical Office participated in the European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics Q2026
At the conference in Šibenik, representatives of the State Statistical Office presented their experiences in using the National Interoperability Platform and participated in discussions on quality, innovation, and trust in official statistics
The Director of the State Statistical Office, Dejan Stankov, PhD, and Biljana Ristevska Karajovanovikj, Head of Unit, participated in the 12th European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics (Q2026), held from 3 to 5 June 2026 in Šibenik, Republic of Croatia.
The conference, organised by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and Eurostat, is one of the most important European events dedicated to quality in official statistics and serves as a forum for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and good practices among representatives of national statistical institutions, academia, and international organisations. Under the motto “Official Statistics: Enhancing Trust, Shaping the Future”, the conference focused on strengthening trust in official statistics, addressing new challenges related to the use of administrative and alternative data sources, the application of artificial intelligence in statistics, and institutional frameworks for quality management in official statistics.
As part of the conference, the representatives of the State Statistical Office also presented a professional paper entitled “Data Integration: The SSO Experience with the National Interoperability Platform.” The paper showcased the Office’s experience in using the National Interoperability Platform as a tool for more efficient linkage and integration of administrative data, improving the quality of statistical products, and reducing the response burden on reporting units.
The participation of the State Statistical Office in Q2026 represents a significant contribution to the international exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of official statistics, as well asconfirmation of the institution’s commitment to implementing modern methodologies, innovations, and European quality standards in statistical production.
