Statistics as a tool for equality: the State Statistical Office at the "EqualXchange" conference
SSO with strong support for equal opportunities – presentation of key data and guidelines at the conference "EqualXchange: Empowering Ideas, Inspiring Journeys"
On 13 June 2025, the Director of the State Statistical Office, Mr. Dejan Stankov, participated as a speaker at the fourth annual conference organised by the Gender Equality Alliance (GEA), a subsidiary of the Macedonian E-Commerce Association (AETM), on the topic "EqualXchange: Empowering Ideas, Inspiring Journeys".
Mr. Stankov gave an overview of the latest national data related to gender equality, the progress achieved so far, the current challenges and future plans, and presented the latest edition of the publication "Women and Men in North Macedonia, 2025", which contains important information and gender-disaggregated data on education, health, employment and participation in decision-making.
The Director also emphasised that the conference is of great importance for the State Statistical Office as it allows for the presentation of significant statistical indicators produced by the SSO, which are the basis for public debate and evidence-based decision-making aimed at promoting equal opportunities in our society.
The conference is an important step towards improving the process of making informed decisions, which is essential for achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life of people.
