External trade, January – June 2026, preliminary data
Increase in exports and imports in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year
The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January – June 2026 amounted to 268 993.7 million denars, a 8.00% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was 377 116.5 million denars, or 7.69% more than the same period last year.
The external trade by products by the Standard International Trade Classification shows that in the exports the most significant products were: supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and other supported catalysts.
In the imports, the most significant products were: platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), and motor vehicles for the transport of persons.
In the period January – June 2026, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, China, Greece and Serbia, which made up 50.0% of the total volume of trade. The EU Member States accounted for 58.5% of the total trade.
