Consumer Price Index and Retail Price Index, August 2026

Inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index in August 2026, compared to July 2026, was 0.4%. 

In August 2026, compared to July 2026, an increase in the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Recreation, sport and culture by 3.1%, Restaurants and accommodation services by 2.5%, Personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services by 0.6%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.5%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance by 0.4%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.2%.

In August 2026, compared to July 2026, a decrease in the Consumer Price Index was registered in the groups: Transport by 0.8% and Clothing and footwear by 0.3%.

The Consumer Price Index in the groups: Health, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics, Information and communication, Education services and Insurance and financial services remained at the same level as in the previous month.

The Retail Price Index in August 2026, compared to July 2026, was 99.8.

The Consumer Price Index in August 2026, compared to August 2025, increased by 2.6%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 2.3%.
