Consumer Price Index and Retail Price Index, May 2026

Inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index in May 2026, compared to April 2026, was 0.6%. 

In May 2026, compared to April 2026, an increase in the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Transport by 1.6%, Clothing and footwear, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.0%, Recreation, sport and culture by 0.9%, Information and Communication by 0.7%, Restaurants and accommodation services by 0.5%, Health and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.1%. 

In May 2026, compared to April 2026, a decrease in the Consumer Price Index was registered in the groups Personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services by 0.4% and Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance by 0.1%.

The Consumer Price Index in the groups Education services, Insurance and financial services and Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics remained at the same level as in the previous month. 

The Retail Price Index in May 2026 compared to April 2026 was 100.8.

The Consumer Price Index in May 2026, compared to May 2025, increased by 4.8%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 5.6%.
