Active population, second quarter 2026
The number of the active population in the second quarter of 2026 increased by 0.8 % compared to the same quarter of the previous year, while the number of unemployed persons decreased by 1.5 %.
Of the total number of unemployed persons, 63.6% were men and 36.4% were women. The number of employed persons increased by 1 %. Of the total number of employed persons, 57.7% were men and 42.3% were women.
In the second quarter of 2026, the number of informally employed persons amounted to 101 022, representing an increase of 7.2% compared with the previous quarter. The increase was mainly driven by the higher number of informally employed persons in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector, where 51 487 persons were recorded, accounting for 51.0% of total informal employment. An additional 17.2% of informally employed persons were concentrated in the construction sector. This structure indicates that seasonal activities in these two sectors have a key influence on quarterly movements in informal employment.
