Job vacancies, first quarter 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, workers were mostly required in service activities and sales.

The job vacancy rate in the first quarter of 2026 was 2.07%, and the highest number of job vacancies, 2 346, was recorded in the fifth group of occupations - Service and sales workers.

The Vardar Region had the highest job vacancy rate at 2.28%.

The job vacancy rate was highest in the section Accommodation and food service activities, 4.94%, while the lowest rate was registered in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, 0.15%. 

Business entities with 10-49 employees had the highest job vacancy rate of 3.05%.

Starting from the first quarter of 2026, in accordance with EU regulations and Eurostat recommendations, the data on job vacancies are published according to the new National Classification of Activities (NKD), Rev. 2.1, instead of NKD, Rev. 2.
