The State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Hungarian Central Statistical Office Strengthen Cooperation through a Bilateral Meeting and a Memorandum of Understanding
The State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia (SSO) and the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) held a high-level bilateral meeting, on the 8th and the 9th of Маy 2025, in Budapest, aimed at enhancing collaboration and sharing expertise in the field of official statistics.
The meeting brought together the top management of both institutions, who engaged in a constructive exchange of experience and knowledge across a range of statistical domains, including modernization of statistical production processes, digitalization, and the coordination of the National Statistical System.
A key highlight of the meeting was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two statistical offices. The MoU establishes a framework for strengthened cooperation through joint activities and collaborative projects in statistical development. The MoU was signed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dejan Stankov, Director General of SSO and Dr. Áron Kincses, President of the HCSO.
The bilateral meeting reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to uphold the principles of professional independence, transparency, and international cooperation in statistics. It also aligns with broader European integration efforts and the ongoing harmonization with the European Statistical System.
The State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Hungarian Central Statistical Office look forward to implementing the agreed activities under the new MoU, fostering long-term institutional ties, and continuing to contribute to the development of high-quality official statistics.
