Visit of Eurostat to the State Statistical Office
Partner Dialogue on Progress in Compliance with European Statistical Standards
From 9 to 11 February 2026, the State Statistical Office hosted the regular annual Eurostat mission. The delegation was led by Claudia Juncker, Head of the Department for Cooperation, Neighborhood and Development Cooperation, together with Veronique van der Zande, the officer responsible for our country.
During the visit, Eurostat representatives were acquainted with the ongoing activities and results achieved by the SSO, as well as with the progress achieved since the previous annual mission. The delegation particularly assessed the progress in data transmission and confirmed the Office's continued commitment to the implementation of European statistical standards.
Eurostat representatives met with the management, sector and department heads of the SSO, as well as with representatives of the National Bank, the Ministry of Finance and the Institute of Public Health, which are members of the National Statistical System. Within the framework of these discussions, the high level of cooperation between the State Statistical Office and other institutions in the National Statistical System was highlighted, as well as the continuous improvement of the quality and reliability of statistical data.
During the discussions, the obligations arising from accession to the European Union were also reviewed, as well as new opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions.
The visit to Eurostat represents an important milestone in further consolidating cooperation and confirms the continuous commitment of the State Statistical Office to providing high-quality, relevant and reliable statistical data, serving the public and the planning of public policies.
